A Taste That Lingers

Arabica Coffee

Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica) is one of the most popular and widely consumed types of coffee in the world. It is well known for its smoother, more complex, and aromatic flavor profile compared to other coffee varieties, such as Arabica. Its naturally sweeter taste, lighter body, and balanced acidity make Arabica coffee a favorite among coffee lovers both beginners and seasoned connoisseurs. Additionally, Arabica coffee is typically grown in highland areas with cool climates, which contribute to the development of its unique and refined flavor. It is no surprise that this type of coffee is often the top choice in specialty coffee offerings at cafés and within the premium coffee industry.

Characteristics of Arabica Coffee

  1. Flavor and Aroma:
Has a light body, bright acidity, and distinctive aroma with notes of floral, fruty, and earthy.
  2. Caffeine Content:
Lower than Robusta — approximately 1.2–1.5%.
  3. Bean Shape:
Arabica coffee beans are oval-shaped with an “S”-shaped crease in the center.
  4. Growing Conditions:
Grows best in high-altitude regions (1,000–2,000 meters above sea level) with cool temperatures and adequate rainfall.
  5. Origin and Production:
Originally from the Puntang, Tilu and Malabar mountains— including Indonesia.
